Experimenting in Miss Tipton's Class
For the past few weeks of school, students planted different seeds in a glove with only water and a cottonball. Each student created a hypothesis stating if their seed would grow or not and why. Each day for two weeks, students observed their seed and took notes in their journal. At the end of our plant unit, students learned that a seed could grow in a glove with only water and a cottonball!

Poets in Mrs. Werling's Class
We have been so busy with everything SPRING…now, if the weather would just cooperate! For a brief time we were able to see some signs of spring and we had fun reading all about it! The students noticed some illustrations in a book that only used construction paper and they wanted to try illustrating that way! They created amazing spring pictures and then we made our first attempt at being poets! I can’t believe how adorable they turned out! We have some serious poets in our class! After learning about spring and weather, we learned how important it is to keep our Earth clean! We learned ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The kids have promised me that on Earth Day, Saturday April 21, they will do something to help our community or their homes! I can’t believe that in just 6 short weeks I will be giving “my kids” to first grade! They have never been more ready and I am so excited to see them spread their wings and fly in first grade!
